Do you love your community and do you love cats? Yours, and everyone else’s? Maybe your shelves hold a mug, calendar, or tote proudly featuring the feline form. Maybe your camera roll is 90% whiskers and toe beans. Perhaps your algorithm has fully accepted its fate and delivers you nothing but cat content. And maybe—just maybe—you show anyone within a five-foot radius photos of your cat (whether they asked or not).

 

If you answered yes to any of the above, Fernwood has the event for you. Back for its second year on Saturday, May 30th, 2026, the Fernwood Cat Walk returns after an incredibly well-attended debut year that saw hundreds of people strolling the neighbourhood, admiring local kitties, and proudly showing off their own. Streets were lively, yards and sidewalks became mini runways, and windows framed some truly poetic feline moments. It was a joyful celebration of community and cats—and we’re doing it again, even bigger.

 

With map in hand (or on your phone), you’ll sashay your way through Fernwood seeking out our neighbourhood’s beloved kitties. Meet confident cats lounging in driveways, admire curious faces peeking from garden fences, or catch that timeless sight: a cat posed perfectly in a window.

 

This year’s Cat Walk takes place the same day as the beloved Fernwood Art Stroll and the Ichigo Strawberry Market, making it a full day of art, community, and feline fun. We’re also proud to be highlighting the wonderful work of the Victoria Humane Society in 2026.
The event is generously sponsored by local community businesses and remains free for everyone to attend. So put your best paw forward and make your way to Fernwood this spring.
